The mighty Balou du Reventon is a phenomenon, in sport (last year 2nd in GP Aachen), but
especially in breeding. The half-brother of Balou du Rouet has not been used a lot as a
breeding stallion, but out of his first crops (oldest offspring 2012) already comes a whole
series of international jumping horses, up to 1.60m level. Here we see him together with the
young broodmare Ranie D.C., who is by Comme Il Faut, which means Cornet Obolensky
appears twice in this foal’s pedigree. The granddam of Ranie is none other than Carthina Z,
the famous Carthago dam of Emerald and the foundation mare of the entire Van ‘t Ruytershof
dynasty.
